Seriously though when TikTok is "not banned" but essentially banned if Meta buys it & gentrified if Google buys it; when TikTok is compromised, networking yourself is gonna get a lot more difficult/more expensive. Leaders of both parties rn are fucking furious at how limited their ability to direct public opinion and cultural narrative has become in comparison to 60 fuckin years ago when the internet wasn't around to verify what we hear from network news outlets.
